Listening to Barbara makes me feel right at home, even though I have relocated to Florida. I have kept my Brooklyn accent as well as my 917 cell phone number, and I always will!
Being from Brooklyn and growing up with a very loud family who by the way talk over each other…OMG, you have to be loud just to be heard. I now live in England (London) and sometimes, ok most times when I return from a trip to NYC, I know that I’ve become LOUD again. I’ve been told by colleagues that I’m speaking so loudly. I laugh but actually, I’m rather embarrassed.
